Open House

Thank you to everyone who attended Open House last week. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as students showed off their learning spaces and families and staff reconnected for another year. We appreciate the ongoing collaboration in supporting our students.

A special shout out to Casey Lackey, one of our high school students. Casey, along with some help from his friends and staff, prepared the snacks for Open House. The mac and cheese bites were life changing.

CCSU Wellness Fair

On September 12, Twinfield hosted CCSU's first Wellness Fair. Over 15 community partners were represented to connect with students and share information about the support we have within our community. Supports for both physical and mental wellness were represented. Students were able to self-select which partners they visited with and walked away with new connections (and swag).

Below are some of the resources that were shared. We will also be updating our Twinfield website to include additional resources available in the community.

Middle School Social Norms Campaign

A New Prevention Program for Our Community!
Our school is working with the Central Vermont Prevention Coalition (CVPC) and Central Vermont Medical Center on a program called FUTURE VT (Families Uniting to Understand & Resolve Substance Effects in Vermont). This program is paid for by a five-year federal grant. It focuses on helping kids avoid alcohol and cannabis (marijuana) by using proven, supportive strategies.
One part of the program is a Social Norms Campaign in our middle school. Throughout the year, students will start to see posters, floor decals, and other messages around school. These are meant to help students understand healthy choices and what most kids really do—not just what they hear or think others are doing.
You might hear your student talk about what they’re seeing at school or ask questions. To help parents and caregivers feel ready for these talks, we’re also sharing tools from the "Talk. They Hear You." campaign. This national program gives tips to help adults talk with kids about alcohol and other substances.

We’ll continue to share what we’re doing at school and offer helpful resources and ways for you to stay involved. We’re excited to work together to build a healthy, informed community for our students and families.
